I make decorated earthenware. I throw plates, dishes and bowls and hand-build jugs, clocks and vases. I enjoy making colourful, decorative, commemorative and functional ware. I also make large pots for the garden. I draw my inspiration from nature, ethnic art and craft, and love bright colours.

The work is made from red clay and decorated with underglaze colours and oxides on a white slip background and outlined with sgraffito. It is fired to biscuit, and finished with a clear glaze fired to 1100°c  in an electric kiln.

I had a traditional art training, specialising in three-dimensional design ceramics. I spent many years teaching art and design before I set up my own studio.

You can see my work from my studio in the garden, and at craft fairs in London and East Anglia.
